Abstract:
The development of energy-saving technology in industrial production is a crucial means to promote energy efficiency, especially when it comes to the “dual carbons” goal. As a raw material for solar photovoltaic panels, polysilicon attaches great importance to its energy consumption, which is a significant indicator of whole life cycle evaluation. Based on summarizing the main energy-consuming processes in polysilicon production, the main energy saving measures and technical development status of hydrogenation of silicon tetrachloride, purification and reduction of trichlorosilane are introduced in the improved Siemens process. Additionally, the carbon emission reductions of several representative technologies which focus on reducing electricity consumption are calculated by the carbon emission factor method. Considering both effectiveness and retrofitting difficulty,it is pointed out that for existing production lines, the primary measures should focus on reducing electricity consumption in reduction process and improving heat utilization. For newly designed factories, extensive research and comparison of different technology route should be taken into account.
